paul troiano

This music entrepreneur, artist, grant giver and mentor is flaming it forward big time.

While studying at the University of Oregon in 1999, Paul Troiano came up with a billion-dollar idea dubbed Rumblefish. He pitched the concept to a finance professor, whose encouragement, introductions and $5,000 investment helped Paul launch the business. When he sold Rumblefish in 2013, it had become the world’s largest independent music licensing company.

Today the Paul Anthony Troiano RainMaker Fund makes $5,000 seed grants to UO student-led start-ups, and Troiano connects grant winners with people he knows who might have advice about next steps.

When he’s not fanning the flames of young entrepreneurs, Paul enjoys fire dancing, something he learned as a surprise for his bride but now practices to wind down after work. So rad, though not entirely surprising given this inspirational leader’s remarkable story!
